Well here we are again, another year another show. After all the foul weather over the last six months it is amazing that any of us managed to get blooms to the show at all.
The storms at the start of the year left a trail of devastation across our Plots, Allotments and Nurseries with newly built covers being smashed to the ground and polytunnels resembling lace curtains we have all had a lot to contend with. This was followed by a period of relative calm and then summer appeared in April and early May followed by winter in June and early July. The poor Dahlias dont know whether to be flowering or dying back.
Once at Tatton on build day, mud, glourius mud.....
Bark laid down everywhere to reduce the quagmire. This wont stop everyone pulling together to finish the build and by 3 o' clock we where all completed and ready to scarper for a look round the show.
amazing what a bit of fresh bark can do to tidy things up. now a quick group photo of most of the team minus Frank who had gone to find the bacon butty van and Don who had gone walkabout.
The new team member this year is Stuart wearing the blue coat.
