We will be attending 2 major flower shows this summer. During the week of August 10th and 11th 2012 we will be attending Shrewsbury Flower Show. Following closely during the week of 16th to the 19th of August 2012 we will be attending Southport Flower Show.

Well the first shoots are appearing in the stock greenhoses as i write this, we are currently putting the Dahlia tubers into their heated beds and boxes ready for the coming season. Initial signs are good with a large number of our tubers showing growing points about to jump into life. Finally myself and the staff would like to wish all our customers a Happy New Year.

It’s the final weekend before Christmas,  We still have  Christmas trees but they are selling fast. We have lots of fantastic Door Circles and Wreaths to adorn your house and for those looking for something a little different why not try one of our special Holly Balls.

Now all the tubers have dried it is time to put them to bed for a few months, those fibourous tubers with little size may need to be started in to growth sooner rather than later. For storage we reccomend a polystyrene box into which we place the tubers then a covering of compost or peat before putting in a frost free place until early March.

Now is the time to complete the lifting of any dahlia tubers you might have left in the ground. Dry them carefully in a heated greenhouse to prevent them being frozen and dust with sulphur.
